What Makes it Low-Grade?

Low-grade is wood product that is not fit for construction, but has wide use in industrial applications and can be a tremendous value over on-grade products. Grading agencies such as WWPA and APA have strict rules for wood products, and manufacturers may have standards above those that cause a product to be downgraded. In general, low-grade products may include:

  • Lumber with twist, wane, cracks, weathering
  • Non-certified or rejected panels
  • By-products and non-standard sizes
  • Cosmetic and branding problems
  • Packaging changes and shelf pulls
  • Surplus or excess inventory
  • Distressed loads including insurance claims and accidents

Low-grade products are our focus. Whatever you need in low-grade, we can get it for you.
